Christmas Cocktails To Put Some Extra Cheer In Your Season

Boozy Grinch Punch

Get into the festive mood with these bright green cocktails!

Ingredients

1 (0.13-oz.) packet Kool-Aid Lemon Lime mix 

4 c.  water

4 c. ice 

3 c. lemon-lime soda 

2 c. pineapple juice 

2 c. vodka 

1 c. ginger ale 

Lime wedges, for rimming 

Red sanding sugar, for rimming

Directions

  1. In a large pitcher combine Kool-Aid and water. 

  2. In a large punch bowl, combine ice, kool-aid, soda, pineapple juice, vodka, and ginger ale. 

  3. Use a lime wedgeto rim glasses and dip in sanding sugar to coat. Pour punch into glasses to serve.

Classic Eggnog

Eggnog sleighs all day.

Ingredients

2 c. milk

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish

1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

6 large egg yolks

1/2 c. granulated sugar

1 c. heavy cream

1 c. bourbon or rum (optional)

Whipped cream, for serving

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla and slowly bring mixture to a low boil.

  2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar until yolks are pale in color. Slowly add hot milk mixture to egg yolks in batches to temper the eggs and whisk until combined.

  3. Return mixture to saucepan and cook over medium heat until slightly thick (and coats the back of a spoon) but does not boil. (If using a candy thermometer, mixture should reach 160º.)

  4. Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream and, if using, bourbon. Refrigerate until chilled.

  5. When ready to serve, garnish with whipped cream and cinnamon.

Peppermintinis

Peppermint bark fans, meet your match.

Ingredients

1/2 c. semisweet chocolate chips, melted

1/4 c. crushed candy canes

6 oz. white chocolate liqueur

4 oz. vodka

2 oz. peppermint schnapps

2 tbsp. heavy cream

Ice

3 small candy canes

Directions

  1. Pour melted chocolate onto a shallow plate, and place crushed candy canes on another shallow plate. Dip rims of martini glasses first in chocolate, then in candy canes. Pour remaining chocolate into the bottom of glasses and swirl to coat the bottom ⅓ of glasses with chocolate. Place glasses in freezer while you prepare the drink.

  2. Combine white chocolate liqueur, vodka, peppermint schnapps, and heavy cream in a cocktail shaker. Fill to the top with ice and shake until cold. Divide drink between 3 glasses and garnish with a candy cane before serving.

White Christmas Margaritas

Ingredients

1 (14-oz.) can unsweetened coconut milk

12 oz. silver tequila

8 oz. triple sec

1/4 c. lime juice

4 c. ice

Lime wedge, for rimming glass

Sanding sugar, for rimming glass

Lime slices, for garnish

Cranberries, for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine coconut milk, tequila, triple sec, lime juice and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth.

  2. Rim glasses with lime wedge and dip in sanding sugar. Pour into glass and garnish with lime and cranberries.

Cranberry Mimosas

No holiday brunch is complete without them.

Ingredients

1 lime, halved

2 tbsp. sugar

1 c. sweetened cranberry juice

1 bottle champagne

12 fresh cranberries

4 small sprigs fresh rosemary

Directions

  1. Line champagne flutes with lime and dip in sugar. Pour 1/4 cup cranberry juice into each glass and top with champagne.

  2. Use a toothpick to poke a hole through cranberries. Thread rosemary skewer through cranberries and garnish mimosas.

 

Drunk Jack Frosties

Ingredients

1 c. vodka

1 c. Prosecco

1/2 c. Blue Curaçao

1/2 c. lemonade

6 c. ice

Lemon wedge, for rimming

White sanding sugar, for rimming

Directions

  1. In a blender, combine vodka, Prosecco, blue curaçao, lemonade, and ice. Blend until combined.

  2. Run a lemon wedge around the rim of each glass then dip in sanding sugar.

  3. Pour frosties into rimmed glasses and serve immediately.

Snowflake Martinis

Ingredients

3 oz. white chocolate liqueur

2 oz. Vanilla Vodka

2 tbsp. heavy cream

1/2 c. ice

1 lemon wedge, for rim

1/3 c. white sanding sugar, for rim

Directions

  1. Using a lemon wedge, wet the rim of your martini glass. Dip in sanding sugar until rim is coated.

  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine white chocolate liqueur with vanilla vodka and heavy cream.

  3. Fill shaker with ice and shake well.

  4. Strain mixture into prepared glass and serve.

Boozy Butterbeer Punch

Ingredients

For The Whipped Topping:

2 c. heavy cream

2 tbsp. packed brown sugar

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

2 tbsp. melted butter

Gold sanding sugar, for garnish

Butterscotch syrup, for garnish

For The Punch 

6 (12-oz.) cans cream soda

3 (12-oz.) cans seltzer

3 1/2 c. vanilla vodka

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cream, brown sugar and vanilla. Using a hand mixer, whip until soft peaks form. Fold in melted butter and set aside.

  2. In a punch bowl, combine cream soda, seltzer, and vodka. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of gold sanding sugar.

  3. Drizzle butterscotch syrup on rim of mugs. Serve punch and top with additional sanding sugar and butterscotch syrup, if desired.

Mistletow Shots

Ingredients

Lime wedge, for rimming glasses

Red sanding sugar, for rimming glasses

1 c. water

2 (3-oz.) packets lime Jell-O

8 oz. vodka, chilled

Whipped cream, for garnish

Mint leaves, for garnish

Red Hots, for garnish

Directions

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each shot glass then dip each shot glass into red sanding sugar.

  2. Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Once bubbling, stir in lime Jell-O, stirring until completely dissolved. Turn off heat. Pour in vodka or tequila (or whatever your preferred alcohol is), mixing until thoroughly combined. 

  3. Pour into a large measuring cup, small pitcher or another glass so it's easier to pour into shot glasses. Pour Jell-O mixture into each shot glass. Place shot glasses into refrigerator until Jell-O sets, about 2 hours.

  4. Garnish with whipped cream, mint leaves, and Red Hot candies before serving.
