Mexico's First Nickelodeon Resort Is Taking Bookings

Mexico's First Nickelodeon Resort Is Taking Bookings

Karisma Hotels & Resorts has begun taking bookings for the June opening of its new Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya all-inclusive, which will mark the group's first Nickelodeon-branded property in Mexico.

All accommodations at the 280-room, family-friendly resort will offer oceanfront views as well as two bathrooms each. Ground-floor units will feature swim-up pool access, while units on all other floors will have infinity plunge pools on their balconies.

"It's a smaller family resort, which is going to cater very, very well to what families are expecting post-pandemic," said Marilyn Cairo, vice president of global sales for Premier Worldwide Marketing, the exclusive sales and marketing provider for Karisma. "They aren't wanting a big-box resort."

The property will also house four themed, penthouse-style signature suites, including a Pineapple Suite, which draws inspiration from the world of "SpongeBob SquarePants," and the brand's first-ever Turtle Lair Suite, which pays homage to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

Other resort highlights include Aqua Nick, a 6-acre waterpark featuring more than 2,000 square feet of slides and 1,820 square feet of river rides, as well as the Club Nick kids club and Nickelodeon Place, a themed complex offering guests access to character meet-and-greets and other experiences.

Guests at the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya will have access to 24-hour in-room dining as well as six restaurants and three bars.

Additional amenities will include a fitness center and a spa featuring kids' treatments, couple's suites, a bridal suite and outdoor treatment areas.

According to Cairo, early interest in the resort has been promising.

"When we opened up the resort for booking on Monday, [we heard from travel advisors] that they had waiting lists of people wanting more information on the product," said Cairo. "I definitely think the pent-up demand is there. And what we've noticed, internally, is that while typically families book travel for spring break, summer vacations or Christmas, we're seeing a lot of demand from families outside of those peak periods."

June opening rates at the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya start at $453 per person, per night, inclusive of food and beverages, airport transfers and full access to the Aqua Nick waterpark.

All Karisma properties on the Riviera Maya, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica are offering complimentary, on-site Covid-19 antigen tests for guests who are traveling to the U.S. Should a guest test positive, Karisma is covering up to 14 days of quarantine accommodations until a doctor certifies clearance for travel with a negative test result.
